Kenneth F. Hadermann, 85, of Lake Wylie, S.C., passed
away on Sunday, April 25, 2010.
Born in New York City, the son of Col. Fred E. Hadermann
and Katherine S. Hadermann (nee Gossler), he enlisted
in the Army Air Corps in World War II and is a member of the American Legion.
He earned a bachelor's degree from Columbia College and a masters from
Teachers College, Columbia University and was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity.
He was a teacher and school administrator in four states.
In 1976, he relocated with his family to Berlin, Germany where he was the
principal of the John F. Kennedy School until his retirement to North Carolina
in 1986. A volunteer Boy Scout leader for over 50 years he was the recipient
of the District Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver. As a member of the Order
of the Arrow, a Boy Scout honor camper's society, he became a Vigil member and
received the Founders Award. Since his retirement, he continued to serve youth
as a Guardian ad Litem.
He is survived by his wife, Hannelore Hadermann of
Pisgah Forest; his daughter, Karena and her husband, Jeff, and their son,
Ryan, of Fort Mill, S.C.; his son, Kurt and his wife, Elizabeth, of Kansas
City, Mo.
Burial will be TBD in New York. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to
the American Heart Association.
